Mixed exercise 2: present simple & progressive

(Practise your skills in using the present continuous & present simple)

Present simple & present progressive – cloze test (difficulty: 3 of 5 – medium)

Put the verb in brackets either in the present simple or in the present continuous (ing or progressive form). Remember that the auxiliary verb ‘to do’ is needed in questions in the simple present. Do not use short forms for the gaps, and pay attention to upper and lower case spelling.

  • Example: “Nadine ________ her car at the moment.” (wash) → “Nadine is washing her car at the moment.”
