Formation of the future continuous
The future continuous or progressive is formed by combining the future form (the future simple) of the auxiliary verb ‘to be’ with the progressive form (ing-form or present participle) of the respective verb. See the examples and the table below:
- Examples of the formation of the future continuous:
- “Next week at the same time, Sue and Andy will be lying on the beach in Mexico.”
- “They will be visiting us on the weekend.”
